The appreciation of simplicity leads to contentment and contentment leads to a rich and meaningful life. Simplicity is almost a lost art during this present age. So we need others to paint the picture for us. Thanks for painting a modern day picture of what simplicity looks like in America!

Dean, this is beautiful, and it is so true to recognise that even way back, men feel the same tug in their hearts, that there has to be something more, something greater, something better than even the success they currently enjoy, especially when they have met Him and begin to realise what He can do more with whatever their own success was built on. Same as then, same as now - Halftime is all about reaching out for what He designed for us, to be fishers of high-capacity men and women.

This posting broke every rule for a blog. It was too long, etc. however I am thrilled to have read it. Great job Todd. God used you to bring Peter's story and countless others like his to life. Follow Jesus...it's worth the risk...you will never be the same.

What a powerful way to tell that. It made me see it as more than a Sunday School story I first heard as a kid and probably 1000 times since. Nice work, Todd...

I've read this story in the Bible many times, but your narrative presentation from Peter's perspective has left me aching in reflection of my own indecisiveness. I will surely wrestle with these thoughts tonight and in my prayers.
